Eddie’s Custom Cars founder, Eddie Salais, was born in 1954 in the heart of Southern California’s most vibrant Low-Rider Community, East Los Angeles.

Growing up exposed to the beautifully styled, fender skirted, lowered, perfectly painted, polished, and fully accessorized pre ’55 low riders, more affectionately known as bombs, any young man’s mind would be impressed. In Eddie’s mind these slow cruising bombs would explode into a million creative thoughts.

As time went on these thoughts would be magnified all the more by his exposure to one of Southern California’s other automotive extravaganzas, drag racing. It was at the drags strips that he would exposed to the dramatic eye-popping custom paint jobs. Candy Apples, Metal Flakes, Pearls, Flames, Scallops, and Pin striping, all meticulously applied. WOW! Dragsters, Gassers, Funny Cars-----bullet fast and gorgeous.

With all this etched in his mind, Eddie Salais would go on to develop the discipline necessary to one day create his own concept custom bombs. A blend of the low-rider, custom, and hot rod dragster styles, custom cars that race the eye and cruise the mind.

In the mid 70’s he joined the Marine Corps and then on to marriage, family and a career in commercial printing. He eventually became acquainted with Dick (Peep) Jackson. Jackson had been part of the crew at Barris’ Kustoms years earlier. Under the guidance of Jackson, Eddie would develop the skills necessary to create his own customizing business.

Starting out as a part time operation Eddie’s has evolved into a full time automotive customizing business. Top chops, shaved door handles, fender skirts, custom paint, restoration and repairs, concept custom designs, etc…………..

You Dream It-----Eddie’s Custom Cars will make it happen.
